Handbeam (the "Service") is operated by GWB Technologies Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17278675, registered office: 167-169 Great Portland Street, London, United Kingdom, W1W 5PF), referred to as "we", "us", or "our". These Terms govern your access to and use of handbeam.com and the Handbeam application. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.
1. The service
Handbeam lets you build a digital profile page (a "Card") containing contact and professional details you choose to enter, shareable via a link, QR code, or NFC tag, and downloadable by anyone you share it with as a vCard contact file.
2. Accounts
You must provide a valid email address and keep your login credentials secure. You're responsible for all activity under your account.
You must be at least 16 years old to create an account.
An account may hold up to a set number of Cards, shown in your dashboard.
Tell us immediately at the contact below if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.
3. Your content and your responsibility
Everything on your Card (your name, job title, company, bio, phone number, email, photo, links, and any other field) is content you actively choose to enter and publish. You alone are responsible for:
its accuracy;
your right to use and publish it, including any third-party names, photos, logos, or trademarks you include; and
complying with the law in how you use it.
You must not use the Service to impersonate another person or organization, publish content you don't have the right to share, or use it for spam, harassment, fraud, or unlawful purposes.
We don't review, verify, or endorse the content of any Card. Handbeam is a publishing tool for details you choose to make public. The accuracy and legality of what you put on your Card is between you and whoever views it, not us.
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claim, loss, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising from content you publish or your breach of these Terms.
4. Publishing and visibility
A Card is private until you publish it. Once published, anyone who has the link, scans the QR code, or taps the NFC tag can view it and save its details to their own contacts. You can unpublish or delete a Card at any time; see our Privacy Policy for how long the underlying data is retained afterward.
5. Free service
The Service is currently provided free of charge. We may introduce paid plans or usage limits in future; if we do, we'll give existing users reasonable notice before any change that affects them.
6. Intellectual property
You keep ownership of the content you publish. By publishing a Card, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive license to host, store, and display that content solely to operate and provide the Service to you and the people you share your Card with.
The Handbeam name, logo, and the underlying software, design, and branding are our property (or licensed to us) and may not be copied or used without permission.
7. No warranty
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available." This is an early-stage product: we don't guarantee it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at all times, and we don't guarantee your data will never be lost, corrupted, or delayed. Keep your own copy of anything important.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
8. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, GWB Technologies Ltd will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or business opportunity, arising from your use of the Service.
Our total liability to you for any claim arising from the Service is limited to £50 or the amount (if any) you've paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose, whichever is greater.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under English law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for our own obligations as a data controller under data protection law.
9. Termination
You can stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, or if we reasonably believe your use of the Service poses a risk to us, other users, or third parties.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms as the Service evolves. We'll update the date above when we do; continued use after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any dispute is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
