Set up your NFC card

NFC tags are blank until you write a link to them. This is a one-time, five-minute physical setup, separate from your card's online profile.

1. Get a blank NFC tag or card

Look for NTAG213 or NTAG215 stickers, cards, or keyrings. They're cheap (often under £1 each in packs of 10+) and available from Amazon or most electronics suppliers. Pre-printed plastic "NFC business cards" work the same way if you want something more polished to hand out.

2. Install a free NFC writing app

"NFC Tools" (iOS and Android) is free and does everything needed here. Install it from the App Store or Play Store.

3. Write your card's link to the tag

Open NFC Tools, go to Write, choose "Add a record" → "URL / URI", and paste in your exact public card link (copy it from your dashboard). Then tap Write and hold your phone against the blank tag until it confirms.

4. Test it

Most modern phones (iPhone 7 and later on iOS 13+, most Android phones since ~2017) read NFC tags just by tapping, no app needed. Lock your phone, tap it against the tag, and it should prompt to open your card in the browser, exactly like scanning the QR code.

If you ever change your username, your existing NFC tag and any printed QR codes will point to the old link. You'll need to rewrite the tag (repeat step 3) with your new link.
